“ Stumbled upon this little gem on a Sunday afternoon drive. Saw it was on the water. Friendly service with a smile. Great food. I ordered Bang Bang Shrimp. Perfectly Fried and Delicious . No liquor license just yet, so BYOB (keep checking back). Clean tables and bathrooms. Great setup with an outdoor patio overlooking the water. A must stop while in Port O'Connor ”
“ Eugene took great care of me. I tried the shrimp burger, fried catfish basket and a bang-bang shrimp taco. They have a great menu and the food is fresh. This was probably my 10th visit and I have never been disappointed. ”
“ Awesome place. I had a half day fishing charter and was looking for a light meal before heading back to San Antonio. What a surprise!! They cooked the RedFish I had caught, added two sides and did it for less than $20!!! Do not skip this place! The oysters for an appetizer were buttery smooth and their tarter sauce could be/ should be sold worldwide. It was a bit slow, so I had the opportunity to speak to the chef about her cooking technique. A perfect end to my day that stared at 4am. Thanks POC475, Froggies and Captain Dave of Bay Bandits! ”
“ What an amazing find was this restaurant. We accidentally found this restaurant while searching for seafood near Port Lavaca, Texas. The owner is amazing in his knowledge of seafood and desire to serve Texas based fish. The views are very nice, the staff was super polite, and great local music. ”
“ Everything here is good! I love the cheese curds, mahi tacos, and burgers! Their fries come out hot and perfectly salted! Best part is, you order and pay when you get there, so once you're in a food coma and want to go - no waiting to pay your bill! Keep up the great work! Update: I transitioned to veganism and they made me fried avocado tacos and onion rings! Couldn't ask for better service! ”
“ This was our first trip to Port O'Conner. We were taking the long way home from being down in the valley for the weekend. And after a pretty long drive, the thing that drew us here was the name "... Bar & Grill". I was ready for a plate of seafood and a frosty beer while watching boats drive by. We picked the right time of day to stop in, as it was just before the dinner rush. Several tables were available both inside and out on the deck. We were greeted very warmly and told to sit wherever we liked. My only disappointment came when we were told that they didn't have a liquor license, so no beers or cocktails. The food was pretty darn tasty. The queso was loaded with chorizo, guac, and pico, and was a perfect start while we waited for the main course to arrive. Grilled fish was seasoned excellently, and the green beans were wonderful cooked, just the right crisp al dente. The grilled bacon wrapped shrimp were a tad salty, even for my wife, who's not on a low sodium diet, which is saying something. It wasn't SO salty that it was inedible, but a little more than if we had made it at home. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or if our waitress had more important tasks, but she was rather inattentive and we ended up having to walk inside and ask for our check so we could be on our way. The spot is right. The atmosphere is right. The food was right enough. But the lack of a bar will probably keep us from coming back until they have one. ”
